When Strangers Need Your Prayer
When Strangers Need Your Prayer. I went to bed thinking of an accident that happened over the intracoastal bridge, not far from my front yard. There were bright sirens of red and blue colors that continually flashed for hours. Six police cars, four ambulances, and five fire trucks surrounded the scene. This accident was bad, I knew it. I felt it. I have seen accidents like this before and instantly felt thankful I was safe. This accident though was different.
‘Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the same of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.’ -James 5:14-16
The Holy Spirit is our direct connection to the Lord. The Holy Spirit dwells in us. He whispers to us and tells us what to do. I prayed to Jesus that the victims would be okay. Then have the faith they will be. I went to bed thinking how awesome God is and how close I felt to Him. The Holy Spirit commanded me to pray to Jesus for the victims and I felt the need to when I started to cry for them. If you ever have a strong emotion to pray for someone, pray. It is the Holy Spirit gently commanding you to do so. Your prayer maybe changing to a stranger. Put your prayer in Jesus’s hands to Heal. Luke 22:42
