When Prayer for You is What You Need
“And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. May you be strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.” – Colossians 1: 9-12
I read this passage while I was having my coffee this morning and I suddenly felt uplifted. I felt so special. With 7 children, school, household duties, and trying to do just about everything to make my family happy and comfortable, I forget about me. Sometimes I need to pray for myself. When I was reading this passage in my Bible, it was so powerful to me. I felt complied to research this passage. I came to the conclusion this prayer was exactly what I needed to start my day.
Colossians 1: 9-12 is special because it is a prayer for myself, family, and others. This prayer makes me feel God providing me with strength and knowledge through His comfort and thankfulness that I am His child. No matter how busy I get. Especially when I put myself last, I know God is there putting me first! I believe this prayer just does the soul good. The Apostle Paul prayed this to the Coliseums. It not only is a powerful prayer for myself for someone that is on my mind that needs a prayer too. If you need God’s strength and wisdom pray this prayer. Even in your own words and feel the warmth of God’s love.
