Christmas Pictures with Ease
Christmas picture planning can be challenging on so many levels for my big family. Every year I have to think about the setting and clothes for everyone to wear. The setting is not as difficult as finding coordinating outfits for girls and boys of ALL ages. We live in Florida so there are many backdrop settings to choose from, except for snow. There is never snow it can actually be hot! We have the sandy beach and ocean, which we have done many times. They turn out beautiful, but keeping the little kids clean and dry is almost impossible and exhausting. We also have the palm trees and marshes, which are beautiful and that was the setting for this year’s Christmas cards. The only hard part of taking pictures on the marsh at sunset is the right lighting and the bugs!!
Clothes for seven children and myself can be expensive too. Even jeans and a white shirt can add up and we have done that before, many times. This year we did something fun, we dressed festive, a little tacky and it turned out fantastic! We did it very economical with everything coming from Target and Walmart, including the Christmas tree and decor. All the girls picked their outfits from Target including myself with the idea of the more colorful and festive the better. The boys got their “ugly” sweaters from Walmart and threw on a pair of their favorite pants. I spent under $200 for all of our outfits which was really good for us.
We had a lot of fun doing our pictures this year and the little kids did good in front of the camera because we made it exciting and captured those moments. In conclusion, those moments that are special were captured in our Christmas cards this years.
